Welcome
Welcome to Draycott and Rodney Stoke Church of England First School. We are delighted to welcome you to our school community and hope you enjoy discovering what makes our school such a special place to learn, grow and flourish.
Nestled in the beautiful Somerset countryside between the cathedral city of Wells and the world-famous Cheddar Gorge, our school is at the heart of a vibrant and supportive community. We are also just a short distance from Glastonbury, renowned for its rich history, Abbey and internationally famous festival.
At Draycott and Rodney Stoke, every child is known, valued and loved. Inspired by our Christian vision and values, we provide a nurturing and inclusive environment where children aged 3 to 9 can thrive academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually. We believe that every child is unique and created with their own gifts, talents and potential, and we are committed to helping them discover their strengths, develop confidence and embrace a lifelong love of learning.
Our core Christian values of respect, trust, courage, thankfulness, kindness and community are at the heart of everything we do. These values shape our relationships, guide our decision-making and are woven throughout our broad, inspiring and ambitious curriculum. Through collective worship, meaningful reflection and opportunities to serve others, we encourage children to develop strong moral foundations, a sense of belonging and a deep understanding of their place in God’s world.
We work closely in partnership with our families, local community and churches to create a caring and supportive environment where everyone can flourish. As a Church of England school, we enjoy strong links with St Peter’s Church in Draycott, St Leonard’s Church in Rodney Stoke and the Diocese of Bath and Wells, enriching the spiritual life of our school and strengthening our sense of community.
In April 2020, we joined Wessex Learning Trust, becoming part of a family of local schools committed to providing exceptional educational opportunities for all children.
Visitors are always warmly welcomed. We are incredibly proud of our school and would be delighted to share it with you. We hope our website gives you a glimpse of the warmth, care and opportunity that define life at Draycott and Rodney Stoke, and we warmly invite you to come and see our school in action.
